Metsoc of CIM hosts the 61st Annual Conference of Metallurgists (COM 2022).To celebrate the return of our in-person conference, COM 2022 will offer more networking sessions, curated plenaries, invited speakers, technology-in-progress discussions, and workshops. Programming will feature light metals for transportation, critical materials, materials manufacturing, sustainability, mineral processing, and more. COM promises an exciting opportunity to meet and learn in a dynamic environment that will emphasize industry, students, and research interactions. The number of authors accepted will be limited and selective. Each presenter will have 5-minutes to discuss their research in development and a question panel will follow from the audience. No paper or extended abstract will be required from the authors in this session.- Wednesday Plenary WorkshopOn our last day, the attendees will discuss in a workshop round-table style setting with moderators on emerging priorities or industries in the metallurgy and materials industry.ON THE TRADITIONAL SIDEParticipants will be able to view presentations from each symposium and the expanded poster session will feature more opportunities for speakers to present their research and technology.ABOUT OUR ATTENDEESCOM traditional hosts 60% industry attendees and 40% academia and is organized by the Metallurgy and Materials Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum.
