This course will provide evidence-based strategies to address frequently encountered medically unexplained conditions. We will begin with a thorough discussion of the pathophysiological process of central sensitization; this will be followed by lectures focusing on specific medically unexplained conditions and symptoms. Each topic will utilize didactic sessions, case vignettes, clinical pearls, and formal Q/A sessions. This course will also incorporate an optional workshop on Healthy Living based on the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program one afternoon of the course. Learning Objectives- Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 1. Define the pathophysiological process of central sensitization2. Highlight the relationship between central sensitization and various medically unexplained symptoms3. Integrate evidence-based diagnostic and treatment strategies for fibromyalgia4. Identify effective strategies for managing chronic gastrointestinal symptoms5. Define post-COVID syndrome6. Identify strategies for effective management of post-COVID syndrome7.
